It was a cool September night at Toyota Speedway of Irwindale which honored all Firefighters and Law enforcement, marking the eve of the 10th anniversary of September 11.  Toyota Speedway offered free admission to active and retired Firefighters and Law Enforcement which was well represented by local Fire Trucks and Police Cars for the King Taco on track Autograph session.  Prior to the racing events there was a moment of silence to honor the lives lost on September 11, 2001.

Scott Corrigan, driver of the No 12 Hasa Pool Products truck had a qualifying time of 19.94,  good enough to start him on the outside of row three.  As Corrigan took the green flag, he gained one position placing him fifth were he ran most of the night.  A caution came at lap twenty for two trucks resulting in one of them exiting the track after hitting the wall.  When the race resumed after 10 caution laps, Scott was in a three wide battle with the No. 78 and 34 trucks.  Corrigan managed to pull away from the No. 78 driven by Lucas McNeil and was in a side by side battle with No. 34 driven by Dennis Arena battling for the fifth and sixth positions when at lap thirty as Scott was entering turns one and two the Hasa Pool Products Truck made an abrupt turn into the wall ending his night.  “I don’t know what happened, the truck was awesome and all the sudden I got to the apex of the turn and it shot up the track into the wall.  This was the best starting and running positions we have had all season long.  We have struggled since the wreck on July 2 to get the truck to where we need it to be competitive with the top five and this happens”, added Corrigan.

Please join us on September 24 for our next race.  Thank you to our sponsors Hasa Pool Product, Accurate Backflow Testing, Voigt Motorsports and Geneva Gas and Supply.
